Today has been varnish day, 4 coats so far, it's starting to look good. Now I just have to starting thinking about getting the line so I can go fishing soon.

The Christmas Cane Rod

Heres some pictures of the progress of the cane rod I got present with for Christmas from my wife and family

The Blank is a Nick Taransky built 6' 2/3 weight out of a single piece of cane. The reel seat is turned brown mallee and an agate stripping guide.
